Our beloved "Uncle Tony", Anthony Lipari, age 97, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 5, 2011. He was born in West Virginia on November 24, 1913, to Peter and Mamie Mushines. He was the last survivor of nine siblings. He was a World War II veteran where he learned to be a good cook and baker.
He was a service station owner and mechanic. During his retirement years he loved to garden and was so proud of his Italian peppers, tomatoes and oregano. He enjoyed playing cards with the family, going out to eat and going to the casino. We had Second Sunday gatherings at his home for many, many years until he went into a Board and Care facility after a fall. This tradition was continued by family and extended family members. He loved being around his family and friends.
He was loved by all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and was a blessing to everyone he met. He was lovingly cared for by the staff of Palm Garden Retirement Home. He loved "his girls" and always talked about how good they were to him! We appreciate Tracy Aanerud for taking good care of his Uncle Tony's property for the last few years. And most of all, we want to thank Christine Chung Camacho for being Tony's angel. She was always there for him when we took him places!
He was loved by so many friends and extended family.
He is survived by his nieces, Candace Cornwell, Toni Aanerud, Linda Friend, Deanna Bertoldi and Nikki Daw; and nephews, Al Wilson, Don Lipari, Ben Tunnell and Randall McGaugh; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and Steven Shinkawa Lipari, the youngest Lipari held a special place in his heart.
