Anita was born on June 24, 1922 to Giacomo and Elva Perocelli on their dairy farm in San Joaquin. She graduated from Tranquility High School in 1940. Anita met the love of her life, Albert (Bert) Pinasco at a dance in Kerman and fell in love the minute she saw him. They married August 19, 1945 and lived in Kerman. While living in Kerman Anita had two children, Janette and Albert. The family moved to Sacramento in 1952 where their third child, Gregory was born. In 1964, they moved to Fresno. Three years later her husband, Bert died. She believed her faith in God got her through this horrible tragedy. For the next thirty plus years she focused on her family.
Anita’s self sufficiency on the farm prepared her for raising her children and using her amazing creative ability. She was an accomplished seamstress, cake decorator, artist, sculptor, jewelry maker, gardener and later in life spent hours reading, knitting and crocheting. Anita made and decorated wedding cakes for each of her children that rivaled any bakery. Her oil paintings and sculptures were also shared with family. The family lovingly bragged about her ability to “bling” anything with her trusty glue gun and lots of sparkly trinkets. Most people remember her beauty, loving smile, and her glamorous style.
Anita learned to golf and joined the Fig Garden ladies golf group. She boasted of her strength at hitting the ball and landing on the green to her years of hard work on the family farm. Later in life she played poker once a week with her beloved ladies poker group. Anita was an active member of the Italian Catholic Federation at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She loved playing Bocce with the Italo American Club in Madera and was a coveted teammate. . Anita blessed family and friends throughout her life with her artistic creations. She left a heartwarming letter and story of her life for family. The details helped to pen this tribute to a life well lived.
Anita gained a tremendous work ethic on the dairy farm. She and her siblings milked cows, mowed and tied hay to feed their animals. Though her family was poor, they were never hungry because they had everything they needed on the farm. Her first paying job was at the War Rationing Board. She started a decor business, Anlyn Creations, with a friend, Lynda. They made and sold gold leafed decor. Anita was proud that some of their creations were purchased by the Ramada & Piccadilly Inn Hotel when they opened in Fresno. In 1987, she went to work at Bank of America part time as a teller. She quickly advanced to new accounts and ultimately became a bank officer. Her banking career ended when she met and married her second husband, Louis Marciochi in 1998. After Louis’ passing she volunteered at the Discovery Shop. She loved the interaction with people and wanted to keep her “old hands busy.”
Anita is preceded in death by her husbands; (Albert Pinasco & Louis Marciochi), parents (Giacomo & Elva), and siblings (Johnny, Albert, & Dorothy).
