Aniceta Ozuna Garza, age 78, died at her home in Fresno, CA, on April 21, 2013, after a courageous battle
of countless health issues. Aniceta was born on July 31, 1934 in Dr. Gonzalez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to
Matias and Lorenza Ozuna.
Aniceta married Guillermo Garza in 1954 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. They migrated to the United states in
1963 with 5 of their children and lived in Kerman, CA, later came their youngest 3 children, they lived in
Kerman until 1975 then moved to Fresno, CA.
Aniceta raised her children and with lots oflove, patience and humor. She helped raise her sisters children
and other family members children that asked her for help. She even took in other children that her family
members recommended to her. She cared for the children she watched as her own and they quickly became
family to her. Aniceta was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a great cook, she would make
the best "pan de elote" (corn bread) and gorditas for her children. They would even fight over who was
going to take some of them home. She loved music and passed that love of music onto her children.
Aniceta had a very unique sense of humor and had many friends. She will truly be missed.
Aniceta is preceded in death by her parents Matias & Lorenza Ozuna, her sisters Concepcion Rodriguez &
Francisca Gonzalez, her husband Guillermo Garza, her daughter-in-law Graciela Garza, her grandson
Michael Mendez Garza and her son-in-law Jose Carlos Rangel.
She is survived by her sisters Adelaida Bernal of Bakersfield, CA & Enedina Cantu of Edinburg, TX, her
children; Mario Garza of Fresno, CA, Guillermo Jr. & Rosalinda Garza of Warden, WA, Estela &
Francisco Alvarado of Manvel, TX, Noemi Rangel of Fresno, CA, Noe Garza of Houston, TX, Margaret &
Efrem Taylor of Clovis, CA, Arnoldo & Lidia Garza of Fresno, CA and Jenaro & Beronica Garza of
Madera, CA; 15 Grandchildren & 11 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
