Jean, a lifelong resident of Fresno was born on July 25, 1920 and died on October 10, 2012. Jean was well known in the community for her participation as a co-owner of Faretta's, one of the first restaurant-bars opened in California after the repeal of prohibition which was successfully operated until 1980.
The family appreciates the compassionate care and comfort provided Jean by the Right at Home staff and caregivers.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hank, who died in March; her parents; and sister Rose Gennuso.
She is survived by niece, Toni Jordan; nephews, Robert Gennuso and Ronald Giglio; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
