Alice Joyce Stein

She passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Alice attended St. Alphonse Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School and Fresno High School, Graduating in 1949. She was a diver on the swim team and a cheerleader.

Alice met Richard Stein while in high school, and was married on August 6, 1950.

She worked at Norris Industries in Los Angeles, and Department of Transportation in Fresno as a Radio Dispatcher.

Alice enjoyed watching hummingbirds and spending time with her dog Catchu.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Richard, father Thomas, mother Emma, sister Annarose and twin brother Buddy.

She is survived by her four children, nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Jeff and wife Tina, granddaughter Alice Marie, granddaughter Anna and husband Kyle. Eric and wife Cathy, grandson Eric Shon and wife Natalie, granddaughter, Shannon and husband Michael. Randy and wife Linda, grandsons Ryan and wife Samantha, Joey and wife Mary. Julie and husband Robert, grandson Daniel, grandson Nicholas and wife Lindsey, and granddaughter Amy and husband Devyn. Seven Great grandchildren Matthew, Ethan, Kyla, Kensie, Ava, Austin, Wesley, Cathy Claire and Mark.

The family would like to thank Julie and Robert for taking care of Alice since her first stroke in 1975; and for always being there, ensuring Alice had everything she needed.

The family would also like to especially thank Mimi’s caretakers, we are forever grateful for all the love and care you provided… she was always at peace in your presence: Lorie the bather, Trish, Angelina, Sherry, Danielle, Crystal, Alice, Leslie, Amanda, Rebecca and Lorena. You will forever be a part of our family.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Home on Thursday December 9, 2021 from 4-7 pm.

Services will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Home on Friday December 10, 2021 at 10 am, with graveside immediately following at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
