It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan (Lanny) Leroy Davenport, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He passed away on April 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Lanny attended Turlock High School, where he excelled in academics and sports. He graduated in 1964, having left an indelible mark on the school's athletic fields, particularly in football, basketball, and baseball. During his senior year in high school, Lanny served as the vice president for his class which highlights his dedication to leadership and involvement and reflects his commitment to making a positive impact during his formative years. After high school, he continued his education at Modesto Junior College before embarking on a distinguished career at Wells Fargo Bank starting in Denair, California and ending when he retired in San Antonio, Texas.
Throughout his 42-year tenure at the bank, Lanny demonstrated unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic, serving as a shining example to all who knew him. His commitment to his profession was surpassed only by his devotion to his family. Lanny provided his children with a nurturing upbringing filled with love, guidance, and countless cherished experiences that will endure for generations to come.
In addition to his professional achievements and role as a loving father, Lanny was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sharon Davenport. Together, they shared a bond built on love, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Lanny's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lanny resided in Fresno for the last year, after he and Sharon relocated from Texas, where they were just a stone's throw away from Tammy and Erik and their adored grandchildren. Family gatherings, especially Sunday dinners, birthdays, and holiday celebrations, were cherished occasions filled with laughter, love, and enduring memories.
