Joyce W. Rosenberry, 97, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 . She was born January 6, 1919 in Billings, MT , the daughter of William E. and Elsie (Hamilton) Woodie. She spent her youth and most of her adulthood in Toledo, OH and graduated from Whitmer High School.She married in 1939 and moved to Washington, D.C. with her husband, Paul, who had accepted a position with the NLRB, she worked for the Washington Post. When Paul was drafted into the United States Navy she returned to Toledo and worked for the Toledo Times and the Toledo Blade. After his return, Joyce stayed home while they raised their children then returned to work at the Toledo Library to help provide her children with a college education.When Paul retired, they spent their winters in Pompano Beach, FL until Paul died in 1992. She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church until she moved to assisted living in Green Springs, OH. She was well loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for her positive outlook on life and her desire to always have fun.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Virginia Sutherly and brother William B. Woodie. She is survived by children: William (Peggy) Rosenberry, The Villages, FL; Kim (Gail) Rosenberry, Destin, FL; Paula (Greg) Raney, Fremont, OH; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio.
