John E. “Jack” House, 84, of Fremont died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Elmwood Assisted Living. He was born in Fremont on August 1, 1930 to Norbert and Nathalie (Novitski) House. On August 23, 1952 he married Janis L. Faulkner in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2004. John was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He went on to work for Ohio Bell, retiring after 30 years. John held lifetime memberships with The American Legion, The Moose, The VFW, Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by children: David (Ruthann) House of Fremont, OH, Cynthia (James) Burroughs of Fremont, OH, Pamela (Marshall) Crawford of Green Springs, OH; sister, Nathalie Walter of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Marilyn House of Fremont, OH. Also surviving are grandchildren: Tony House, Michael House, Andrew House, Alex House, Angela Perkins, Jon Burroughs, Jake Burroughs, Eric Daniel, Tiffany Daniel; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings: Rosemary Raiff, Debra Bruchs, and William House.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 3-8P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH. Mass of Resurrection will begin at 1:00P.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with military graveside rights performed by the V.F.W. and American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
