Clara Smith

Clara E. Smith, 88 of Fremont, died Friday afternoon, October 11, 2013 at Countryside Continuing Care Center. She was born December 7, 1924 in Attica, OH the daughter of Carl and Ora (Featheringill) Williams. On August 10, 1942 she married Leo Smith in Fremont, he preceded her in death on February 11, 2002. She worked for the former Newberrys, Singer Sewing Center, Kroger and Noftz and Avers.

Clara loved to cook, sew, garden and read. Mrs. Smith was a meticulous housekeeper who enjoyed cleaning and decorating her home for the holidays, especially Christmas. She lived for yearly summer vacations with her husband and children to Cook C ity, Montana, meeting up with the many friends that they had met over the years. Clara loved spending time with her family and was especially fond of the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Jerry (Mary E.) Smith of Hermitage, PA; Gini (Bud) Berkowitz) of Fremont, OH, Pamela (Dave) Lankard of Columbus, OH and Marc (Charlene) Smith of Hermitage, PA; grandchildren: Lisa Sangregorio, Heidi Giovanelli, Hedi Vernile, Jered Smith, Mike Berkowitz, Kim Berkowitz; great-grandchildren: Brittani, Anthony Michael, Garrett, Jackson, Ella, Kennedy, Connor, Brody, Sloan, Morgan, Alyssa.; sister Adelphia Martin of Attica, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, parents, brothers Marian and Bruce, sisters: Cleona Garman, Carol Loar and Pearl Tussing.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 10:00A -1:00P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, OH. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday from the funeral home with Deacon Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
