She was born on January 6, 1934 in Allen, Michigan to Clifford M. and Mildred Doris (Crapo) Wells.
Marilyn graduated from Jonesville High School in 1952.
She was the owner of the New Fremont Eagle newspaper, and JMR Printing Company. She also worked at Steuben County License Branch, the Holiday Inn, and The Lake George Motor Inn.
Marilyn enjoyed playing music all her life. She was the organist for the Roy Bodie Band, and the Roy-al Marilyn-airs. She also played music all over the area.
Marilyn loved playing cards, Sudoku, bingo, going out to eat, and watching television.
Survivors include a son, Roger (Laurie) Montgomery of Camden, Michigan, grandchildren, Angie Ireland of Columbia, South Carolina, Chris (Courtney) Montgomery of Ekalaka, Montana, Levi (Amber) Montgomery of Angola, Indiana, Danielle (Corey) May of Reading, Michigan, Elizabeth “Sam” Montgomery of Bakersfield, California, and Jake Montgomery of Nevada Mills, Indiana, great-grandchildren, Derrin Ireland, serving in the US Navy, Raeleigh Montgomery, Jaycie Montgomery, Braden Montgomery, Coy Montgomery, Ellianna Dunn, Lydia May, Brantley Gerber, Madalynn Montgomery, and JJ Montgomery, a great-great-grand-daughter, Kada Montgomery-Morales, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Mildred Wells, a son, Joseph Montgomery, a great-grandson, Kaden Montgomery, a sister, Norma Gloar, and brothers, Ronald Dillie, Gary Wells, and Tom Wells.
Memorial Services will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Rev. Jon Bruney will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 pm until 3 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
Burial will be at a later time at Allen Cemetery, Allen, Michigan.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
