Jerry was born in Fremont, Indiana, on June 20, 1941, to Wade Noble Foster and Mildred (Penner) Foster.
He graduated from Fremont High School in 1959, and then served in the United States Air Force, from 1960 until 1964.
He married Wilma Jean (Powers) on April 21, 1962 at Dover, Delaware.
Jerry also served the community as the Executive Director for Brockville Commons in Fremont for over 30 years. He was a member of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257, and was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church, where he had served on many committees, and was an usher. His hobbies included playing golf, fishing, traveling, and always enjoyed taking an annual trip out west in the fall after Labor Day.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Foster of Fremont, Indiana, a daughter, Dinah Foster of Coldwater, Michigan, a son, Bryan (Angel) Foster of Fort Wayne, Indiana, three grandchildren, Joshua Foster of Coldwater, Michigan, and Teegan Foster and Cameryn Foster both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and nieces, Carol, Kim, Lori, and Cindy, and a nephew, Mike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble Wade and Mildred Foster, a sister, Janet Hankes, a brother, David Foster, and nephews, Mark and Steve Hankes.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 pm Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 5 pm Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Beams Funeral Home, with Rev. Darin Hendrey officiating. Military Honors will follow services, and will be conducted by members of the Fremont American Legion Color Guard.
Private burial will take place at the Fremont Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, at a later time.
Memorials in his memory are to the Fremont United Methodist Church or the Fremont Cemetery Association.
