Dorothy Louise Collins

She was born August 26, 1918, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to George W. and Elsie Clancy. They preceded her in death.

She married Paul E. Collins on September 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1999.

Over the years, she had enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, and time spent with her family. She loved her view of the lake, the swans, birds, etc., the company of her cat, Fancy, and the beauty of each season. She kept her mind active with reading, doing crossword puzzles, lots of games, and telling stories.

Dorothy was a member of the Nevada Mills United Methodist Church, UMW, Mill Ponders Club and involved in many activities and offices of the church.

Surviving are her children, Lorraine Throop (Donna Lilly) of Jimmerson Lake, Fremont, Ind., Neil (Debbie) Collins of Florence, S.C., Charles (Jill) Collins of Angola, Ind., and Claudia (Dave) Smith of Jimmerson Lake, Fremont, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, Pamela Pender, David (Angie) Throop, Joshua (Maxine) Collins, Angela (Daryl) Pelletier, Amber Collins, Heather (Todd) Newell, Holly (Rocky) Delancey, Megan Collins, Jeremiah Collins, Kylie Collins, Isaiah Collins, Lauren (Andrew) Morris, Benjamin Smith and Andrew Smith; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Clancy, and her great-granddaughter, Makayla Newell.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Beams Funeral Home,Fremont, Ind., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the funeral service at the church.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, Nevada Mills United Methodist Church, 4710 W. Bachelor Road, Angola, Ind., with the Rev. Duane Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Ind.

Memorials are to the Nevada Mills United Methodist Church and to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
