Song Ji Choi, resident of San Jose, beloved wife of Jung K Choi for 60 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on February 21, 2014. Song Ji is survived by her husband, Jung K Choi; sister Bong Ae Kim of Sokcho, brother Ky Yun Jo of Sahchun, South Korea; and sister-in-law Goom S. Huh of Milpitas; children Jane Moon (Young) of Oakland, Jason Choi (Lily) of Dallas, TX, April Choi-Pawlowski (Larry) of Springfield, VA, and Ken Choi (Madoka) of San Francisco; Grandchildren Lisa Hong, Ryan (Lisa) Pawlowski, Steve Hong, Jennifer Choi, Jacqueline Choi, Jessica Choi, Larissa Pawlowski, Justin Choi, Jamie Choi; great-grandchildren Gavin Roldan and Claire Pawlowski; and nieces and nephews in the U.S. and in South Korea. She was amazingly selfless, gracious, and loving person, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She immigrated and settled in the South Bay area since 1972. She loved to cook, garden, the smell of pine trees and travel. She was admired by many for her cooking and gardening talents, positive outlook on life, calming presence and her loving family. She loved the close relationship she built with her family. She devoted her lifetime in Buddhism, most recently with San Francisco Bool Kwang Temple.
Memorial service will be on 8 March, 12:00pm at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, Fremont, CA.
