Shirley was born Jan 18, 1930 in Vancouver B.C Canada. She moved to Michigan in early childhood and graduated from Alley Park, MI H.S. Then went on to nursing school in Hinsdale, Illinois Sanitarium, where she graduated in 1953. She married Fred Pitman , whom she met at First Baptist Church in Wyandotte, Michigan. They moved to Chicago , Illinois where she practiced her nursing skills & assisted her husband through seminary. She served as a professional nurse (R.N) in Mi, Ill. , OR and CA. She had four sons, David , James, Steven and Timothy (deceased) & 2 grandsons, Lucas and Andrew. Shirley and Fred moved from San Leandro to Bethesda Christian retirement center in Hayward in June of 2005. She was transferred to the skilled nursing facility at Bethesda on June of 2008 and went to be with the Lord 3/3/2013. The administration and staff of Bethesda have been most helpful and much appreciated. A Memorial Service will be helf at Bethesda 22427 Montgomery St. Hayward, CA on Sunday March 9, 2013 at 2PM.
