Rodolfo "Rudy" Reed

Rodolfo "Rudy" A. Reed Jr., age 45, of San Jose, California passed away on Sunday April 26, 2020. "Rudy" was born August 13, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas. His parents were Rodolfo and Elisa Salinas. He was raised in Fort Worth, Texas; and had two older sisters Ana and Susana.

As a young child, Rudy showed his creative ability in many ways. He was outgoing and animated. In his spare time he liked to collect Hot Wheels and paint rocks.

Travel and vacations were experiences that Rudy enjoyed, which included two visits to Germany, a visit to Prague, Czech Republic, three cruises (Alaska, Eastern & Western Caribbean), a Starlight Amtrak trip to Seattle, a variety of road trips which included destinations such as Las Vegas, Napa, San Luis Obispo, multiple visits to his home state of Texas, and most recently a visit to Maui, Hawaii.

Rudy was a lover of animals and cherished his pets, especially Storm, a Pomeranian - who was his best friend and by his side for 7 years.

Rudy passed away on April 26, 2020 at Regional Medical Center in San Jose, California. He is survived by his husband Virdie Reed; his sister Ana M. Salinas; his nieces Clarissa Marie Galan, Melissa Re'nee Salinas, Alexis Nichole Munoz, Marissa Pulsipher, Amanda Faith Munoz and Liliana Rose Montes; his great nieces and nephews Alynah, William, Alivia, Eliana, Benjamin and Fernando Jr.; his sister-in-laws Nicole Reed and Carmen Penaloza; and in-laws Roosevelt G. Reed, Monika T Reed and Tiburcio Penaloza; and a plethora of friends that we call our “Chosen Family”. Rudy will be laid to rest in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Fremont, California; and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations to BAAKP (Bay Area Association of Kidney Patients), a Kidney Education & Support group which we were active volunteers for.
