Rey was born on August 8, 1948 in New York, New York to Alex Pasion and Ligaya Pasion (Nunez). Rey was educated at Manhattan Vocational Tech High School. At the age of 18, he was drafted into the US Army. Rey enjoyed serving in the military and made a career of it serving for twenty years until his retirement as a Master Sergeant in the US Army in 1987. His last duty station was at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA.
Rey spent his last several years as a resident in San Jose, CA with his wife, Susan Pasion. Rey enjoyed spending time with his family vacationing in Crescent City, fishing at the beach, playing cards, trips to Las Vegas, and hanging out with his buddies. He was also very passionate about photography and enjoyed being behind the camera capturing special moments. He was loved and respected by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Pasion, his brother Benjamin Decano and sister-in-law, Janelle Decano, his daughter, Christina Brendle, his son, Fredrick Pasion, his son, Jason Baraceros and daughter-in-law, Lani Baraceros, his one niece Jodie Farrell, and his six grandchildren, Gabriel Pasion, Joshua Baraceros, Jacob Baraceros, Bailey Brendle, Samantha Baraceros and Cameryn Baraceros. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Loretta Pasion who he loved dearly.
