Mildred Kallerud Belanger

Milly was was born July 9, 1926 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Emil and Gyda (Gartland) Kallerud. She graduated from Bayfield High School in 1944. She continued her education in Business College in Ashland, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth of sixty three years, her infant son Russell, and her parents Emil and Gyda Kallerud.

Milly, whom all children referred to as “Mimi”, busied herself helping to raise many children whose parents were teachers for the Milpitas Unified School District. Later in life, Mrs. Belanger worked in the Patient Services Department of Kaiser Santa Clara.

Mrs. Belanger loved to read and knit. Dozens of Belanger grand babies received large knitted Teddy Bear blankets, each one made which a special theme or colors – which have become family heirlooms. Her knitted treasures became highly sought after by her children’s friends as they became parents.

Milly’s greatest loves in her life were her 6 sons, 16 grand children, and 17 great-grand children. She hosted large family gatherings and loved every moment with her huge family! Mimi was an amazing cook and at the holidays would make her special Norwegian treats!
