Maurice "Marty" Joseph Brouillard, age 93, of Fremont, California passed away peacefully in his home on October 22, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife, Else, and is survived by his daughter Claudia Bell(Ken Wilson), son Michael Brouillard, daughter Susie LeHouillier(Jean), 2 grandsons, James DeVoe(Kristie), Steven DeVoe(Lisa) and 3 great-grandchildren, Ashly DeVoe, Zoe and Jonas DeVoe.
Marty, or as his mom and Chicago family knew him as Morris, was born in Los Angeles CA on October 1, 1930 but called Chicago his home. His father passed when Marty was very young so he grew up living in various parts of the country, joined the army when he was old enough, settled in the California Bay Area where he met Else. They settled in Fremont, CA where they raised their 3 children.
Marty was very active in the early years as Fremont, specifically Warm Springs, spending several years as the president of the Warm Springs Boosters. He coached baseball and football and spoke often of memories of the early days in this community.
Marty retired from Lockheed where he worked for many years as an Engineer. He was one of the last that was promoted to the unofficial title of Engineer without a formal education, succeeding with determination and perseverance alone. Growing up, all we knew is he helped put monkeys into space.
After retirement he had the devastating loss of his leg but that did not stop him. On his 80th birthday he still played a pretty mean game of tennis in spite of his prosthetic leg. He will be missed.......
An urn placement for Marty will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, CA 94539.
