She was born on December 10, 1931 in Baguio City, Philippines. Her parents, Valentin Torio and Felidad Datoc, had 10 children (Benjamin, Helen, Avelina, Rogelio, Lydia, Afredo, Valentin, Imelda, Susan and of course Lolita). She met her husband, Hermenegildo Reyes Placheta in Binalonan Pangasinan. They got married on April 23, 1949. She moved with her husband, who was a military man, to Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila. She had 8 children - Hernaldo, Hildo, Hermildo, Hermando, Lucita, Herogildo, Harold and Lilibeth. She was petitioned by her father to come to the United States in 1978.
She was a housewife in the Philippines but worked in the United States for 15 years as a server/cook at Varian Electronics in Palo Alto, CA. She retired at 65 years old. She has 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She babysat almost all her grandchildren - this was her happiness. She was a great cook. Whenever her grandchildren visited her, she would make them rice krispie treats. She loved to listen to Pilita Corrales and Rico Puno songs in her younger days. Her favorite colors were red and blue.
She was loving, caring and generous to everyone - especially to her children.
