Kenneth Louis Belanger

Kenneth was the son of Isaac and Rose (Cadotte) Belanger. He attended Holy Family School and graduated from Bayfield High School in 1944. He was in the Army from 194 to 1946 and discharged as a Sergeant after serving in the Pacific. He attended Superior State College graduation in July 1951.

Surviving wife, Mildred Kallerud (also from Bayfield) was married on August 27, 199. He taught at Centuria Wisconsin Elementary School from 1951 to 1953. The family moved to Gustine CA where he taught at the elementary school from 1953 to 1962. The family thenn moved to Milpitas CA where he taught at Milpitas HS, Thomas Russell and Rancho Middle schools from 1962 until he retired in 1985.

Ken was a member of the Lake Superior Band of Chippewa in Odana WI. He was past Commander of VFW post 7635 of Gustine and member of the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Milpitas. Ken, an avid reader, enjoyed wood working, playing golf and travelling with senior golfers to their tournaments. He was a Summit Pointe golf club Marshall for many years. His family was the most important thing to him.

He is pre-deceased by his son Russell Kent, parents Isaac and Rose, brother Donald J., sisters Doris Nelson and Frances Davidson. Surviving family include wife, Mildred and six sons. Gregory K. (Susan), Kerry E. (Patti), Kristopher L. (Debbie), Leif W. (Nancy), Lorin D. (Andrea), and Eric I. Sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and his devoted cousin, sister Grace Ann Rabideau, OSF, of Bayfield WI.

Ken passed peacefully at the VA hospital in Palo Alto Thursday Jan 31, 2013.
