Uncle Joe or Lolo Joe as we fondly called him, has always been dear to us. As a child, I remember getting excited whenever he was coming. He always had "pasalubong" for us, whether it be from Manila where he lived during that time or from his trips abroad. I still remember the "panaview" and "viewmaster" toys he brought us from one of his U.S. trips back then. On several occasions, he would gather us, his nieces and nephews together to take our pictures with his instamatic Kodak camera with black and white film. Most of the time , he supplied us with reading materials like old books, magazines,and interesting newspaper clippings. Weekends were always fun when he was around.
     Through the years he showed genuine concern and affection to our Lola Pilar, his siblings, his family and all of us-his nieces and nephews and also his grand children. 
     His achievements inspired us, as we admired his hard work, perseverance, and frugality. He was always dear to our hearts and will still be, long after he had gone.
     Rest in Peace our beloved Uncle/Lolo, We will cherish you memories forever.

These are the kind of times I tend to not know what to say; save that Lolo Joe was a well loved man coming from everyones (including my own) wishes as well as a good influence coming from my own experience knowing him. 

My fondest memory of Lolo Joe would have to be way back when we were just kids and he and Lola Telma would come back to the Philippines to visit. There was this one particular time in Lipa when they brought a balikbayan box containing all sorts of stuff to be given to everyone and we had alot of fun checking what was inside. Having someone from another country I've never been to with stories and stuff ive never seen, I guess in a way that had an influence on me; so much so I'm now living out of the Philippines myself.

I may not be able to attend the funeral (for that I apologise) but please know that you- Lola Telma, Tita Dinah, Tita Piah, Tita Lyn and everyone have my sincerest sympathies. God bless.

The loss of a loving and thoughtful uncle is difficult to bear.  He had always been my inspiration.  His patience, perseverance and dedication to work and to family were worth emulating.  I have always been proud of him since my childhood. 

Though grieving, I am happy that I had the chance to show him how I care for him during the last moments of his life.  He had been so blessed that he felt the love and care of his loved ones before he left us. My dear cousins Piah, Dinah and Len, you are so lucky to have a dad like Uncle Joe and a mom like Tia Thelma.

Uncle Joe's memories will always be in my heart forever.  Goodbye, dear Uncle, I am comforted by the thought that you are now at peace with our Lord and have met Mamay Sebio, Lola Pilar, Tatay, Tio Oven and your only sister Tia Josefa…I love you so much!!!

We will miss you, Tio Jose. We will never forget your karaoke moments (your very unique rendition of My Way),your funny stories and useful advice on how to be super-thrifty. You were always so thoughtful and generous, bringing us 'pasalubongs' whenever you visited. You're humble and loving ways are truly inspiring and will always be remembered. We love you!

I had the utmost pleasure of knowing Jose as a co-worker.
He was an inspiration to me and all those he came in contact with.
What a "great" human being.
I will miss his wit and humor.

Uncle Joe is one of those few men i truly respect and love. His kindness, generosity and love is a big part of my being. He may not be my uncle by blood, but the compassion he showed me and the rest of his nephews and nieces by affinity, is by far more than a relative by blood. Uncle, thank you so much for everything. I say goodbye to you now with a sad heart and a happy mind. Sad that you are no longer with us. Happy knowing that you are now with our Dear God. I love you Uncle. My love and prayers goes with you. To my Auntie Thelma, stay strong, my love and hugs to you. To my cousins Piah, Dinah and Len, i love you guys. i am with you, i feel the loss. You are all blessed to have him as your Dad. Be always there for your mom, especially now, be strong for her. I wish i could be there. Uncle Joe, goodbye. Rest in peace now, till we meet again.
