Joanne was born on the beautiful island of Hawaii on Thursday January 31, 1946. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Joanne was the oldest child of Joseph and Abigail Hoke. Being the eldest of 11 children, she was always looked up to by her siblings.
Joanne meet and married the love of her life Hank and had 3 children together, Eric, Sherri and Stacy. They enjoyed 44 years of happiness. Her heart was broken on Oct 29, 2008 when Hank lost his fight with cancer.
Joanne was survived by her 3 children, 3 children-in-law 7 grandchildren, 3 grandchildren-in-law, 12 great Grandchildren and 5 siblings. Coleen Franklin, Milpitas, CA, Joseph Hoke, Los Banos, CA, William Hoke, Modesto, CA, John Rawlings, Corning, CA and Maureen Olsen, Albany, GA.
She lived her life embracing ‘Ohana. Her family meant everything to her. Her house had every inch of wall space is covered with pictures of her family.
While her children were growing up, she volunteered her time to assist with Fremont Football and Fremont Girls Softball Association (FGSA). She also went to her children’s High School sporting events. She continued that dedication to family by being involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events as well. She hosted and also attended many family events from the Islands to the Mainland. She would travel great distances to be with her family. Family events consisted of trips to Great America, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Elitch Gardens, Las Vegas and numerous Family Game Days.
She will be greatly missed by all that were her ‘Ohana.
