Elvira was born on February 13,1932, in Lockhart, Texas. She married Louis Samaro, Sr., on May 20,1946 in Lockhart, Texas and was married for 67 years until his passing on January 9, 2014. She worked at Del Monte Foods Inc., San Jose, California, for 30 years as a cannery worker.
Elvira found joy volunteering for Saint Maria Goretti Church including the St. Vincent de Paul charitable activities. She participated in Activism as a member of the Guadalupanos Society and the Cesar Chavez United Farm Workers movement on the front lines to feed the volunteers. She was an avid gardener at her San Jose, Firebaugh, and Livermore homes with a wide variety of plants, cactus and fruit trees. She enjoyed her Mexican novellas as well as music, attending mass and cooking for family and friends.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents: Francisco and Trinidad Rodriguez, her husband Louis Samaro, Sr., and her daughter, Mary Louise Samaro, son, Doug Miller as well as her siblings, Candida Rodriguez, Benito Rodriguez, Eduardo Rodriguez, Pedro Rodriguez, Refugia Rodriguez, Anita Rodriguez Gonzalez, Altagracia Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez Chapa, Aurora Rodriguez Garcia, Asencion Rodriguez, Rebecka (Cuca) Rodriguez, Dora Garcia and Rodrigo Rodriguez.
She is survived by her siblings, Hilberto (Gil) Rodriguez, Raul (Roy) Rodriguez, Julia Rodriguez and Trine Rodriguez.
