Edward Wilson Erwin passed away peacefully on April 24, 2010 in Fremont, CA. He was 93 years old. Fremont was his home for 53 years. Edward was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 1, 1916, the youngest of nine children. He gave his county twenty years of active service in the US Navy and 10 years in the US Naval Reserve. He was married to Geraldine Miller Erwin for 61 years. During their marriage Edward and Geraldine resided in Florida, Hawaii, Southern and Northern California. In 1957, they moved to Fremont, CA to raise their seven children. Edward’s career included work for Ford Motor Company, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, Heil Equipment, National Aeromotive, and he was an erstwhile owner of Spin A Yarn restaurant in Fremont. Edward was the beloved father of and is survived by Robert Erwin, Richard Erwin, Randy Erwin, Nancy Erwin Smith, Ronald Erwin, Raymond Erwin, and Patrick Erwin, fifteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grand children. A visitation and rosary for Edward will be held at 6:00 pm, April 30, followed by a remembrance and celebration of Edward’s life on Saturday, May 1, at 11:00 am at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Warm Springs, 48800 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94539, 510-656-5565.
