Duy Nguyen, a very loving husband, brother and uncle passed away at the young age of 41 peacefully in San Jose on Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was in the arms of his wife while surrounded by family.
Duy was born on July 7, 1979 in Saigon, Vietnam to Nguyen Quang Minh and Diep Thi Huong Lan. In 1990, he immigrated to America with his family and grew up in the Bay Area, California. Duy graduated from Prospect High School and was a self-taught technologist, which led to his professional IT career for the past 20 years in Silicon Valley. He worked at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in San Mateo for the last seven years.
On March 15, 2016, Duy married the love of his life, Marianne Trinh, who’s been by his side for 14 plus years. Duy fought bravely and endlessly to beat stage IV pancreatic cancer over the past 18 months - no doubt he was a WARRIOR and will forever be our Champ. Duy was an extraordinary man, known for his quick wit, infectious smile, kind and compassionate spirit. His positivity, thoughtfulness, silliness, and love of life created a sense of unity that pulled people together. Duy was also a big sports fan who loved the Warriors, 49ers and enjoyed celebrating team wins (and making fun of opponent losses) with friends and family.
You could always count on Duy to help others as he gave so much of himself, never asking for anything in return. He lived by the motto: "Always forget what you give, but never forget to forgive.” Duy really made our world a better place, brighter with his light, and impacted so many - he's the epitome of a great human being, and he's well loved and remembered by all.
Duy was preceded in death by his mother, Lan. He is survived by his father Minh, wife Marianne, his brothers Phu and Giao, sister Jennifer, nephew and niece Wyatt and Skylar.
Our family would like to thank everyone for your outpouring love, support, and prayers during this difficult bereavement. Duy will always and forever be in our hearts.
