Regina Kelly

Regina retired after 20 years from the Rappahannock Regional jail. She was a life member of the Fredericksburg Fire & Rescue Squad and worked for many years at the Thurman Brisbane Homeless Shelter and Hazel Hill Apartment Community. She was a loving niece and caregiver to her aunt Jennie who resided with her, and substitute mother and auntie for many.

She is survived by her siblings, Thomas Barksdale (Peggy) of South Carolina, Moses Scott (Sanita) and Jesse Scott both of Fredericksburg, and James Scott of Gretna; aunt, Jennie Ferguson of Warrenton; uncle, Bobby L. Smith, Sr of Fredericksburg; and eleven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Elizabeth Scott; sister, Mary Agnes Cassimiro; niece Angelique Cassimiro; and nephew, Tony Barksdale.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg from 5-7 PM. A service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Shiloh “Old-Site” Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, with Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memory Gardens.

Memorials May be made in her name to Fredericksburg Rescue Squad and Thurman Brisbane Homeless Shelter.
