On Saturday morning April 25, 2020 Randolph Collins Harris departed this life at The Riverside Doctors Hospital in Williamsburg, Virginia. Randolph Collins Harris was the son of the late Spenser and Roberta Harris born on November 5, 1937 and raised in Franconia, Virginia
Although Randolph came from humble beginnings, he was a proud independent person who with his charismatic and gregarious personality could charm just about anyone. He grew up in a wooded rural area outside of Washington DC now known as Hayfield Farms, he was the seventh of ten siblings. Randolph received his high school diploma from Luther Jackson High School in Merrifield, Virginia. He was offered an academic scholarship to Tuskegee University but instead decided to go to New York to pursue spiritual goals. Randolph accepted Christ as his Lord and was baptized under Bishop Washington of the Church of God and Christ.
Soon after returning to Virginia during a New Years Eve church service he met his future wife Eva Mae White. After working various jobs, he studied electrical engineering and worked for AGA for many years.
In 1965 Randolph started his own successful company, All Nite Cleaning Service, Inc. and during the next three decades he developed many clients in the Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland areas. He was able to mentor many young people in and out of his family to follow in his entrepreneurial example.
Randolph loved the scriptures, and many will fondly remember his loud, enthusiastic recitation of many bible scriptures while emphasizing a point. The Book of Proverbs was his favorite. Randolph worked for many years to receive a Church of his own, and during his pursuit he volunteered at his wife’s father’s church, One Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, in Washington DC in the 1960’s, Morning Star Pentecostal Church in Alexandria in the 1970’s, and many more including New Light Church of Christ in Dumphries Virginia under Pastor Jessie Pemberton. Then in the 1990’s he was able to pastor at the Philadelphia Open Door Pentecostal Church in Washington DC. Up until his last days Randolph could be found preaching and teaching the Word of God to all who would listen.
He leaves to remember him, a wife of 61 years, Eva Mae White Harris; children Sharon Harris Blackwell (Lawrence), Randolph Collins Harris Jr, Pamela Mae Harris, Brady Collins Harris, Tameka Mae Harris Franklin (Devin), 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
