To my bride, It's been such a tough year for all your loved ones with you not being here. I just kept thinking on all the occasions that YOU SHOULD BE HERE. .Joey graduating from college, Mike continues to be on the Dean's list, Andrea getting her drivers license to even Nick and Alex having baby #4 and naming him Phillip and all the other ones..I have tried my best to continue what you started in helping  our children in their walk of this life..I miss you terribly and "YOU ARE" and always will be the love of my life..until I see you again..

Hi Tom,  I never realized how difficult the first anniversary of Diane's passing would be, until I experienced it in Oct. of '97. In fact, I wound up in the emergency room for a brief period. Prior to that night, I had never been in a hospital as a patient. So you can be certain that my prayers are with you tonight. Fortunately, the second year was not as difficult to bear.
         My walks and visits to Oak Hill 
cemetery are quite frequent. A visit to the grave is the first thing I do when I get there and I always look forward to seeing how you and your family have decorated the plot since my last visit...always something interesting with flowers and flags and all kinds of stuff. One day,  I was starting my 45 min. walk when, a short distance away from the grave, as I passed a headstone, it started to sing to me. First I jumped....then I laughed. God bless and comfort you all.   Ray

I will never forget the Tuesday nights when our parents went on date night and I held you in my arms and we always talked about GOD!! Can’t wait to see you again❤️

I just wanted to let you know how much impact you had in my life. No matter what situation I was going through you seemed to always lend an ear. You always knew what to say and when to say it. You always responded in this gentle tone followed by your trademark laugh. You provided me with so many memories whether it was visiting those haunted houses or driving through “small town”. Lastly, I’m just so grateful to receive such true genuine love from you. You always made me feel like one of your son’s and I always looked at you as a mother figure. Thank you my dear Aunt.

Everyone was refreshed when Phyllis would ask you if there was something you needed pray for ....and she prayed...
A Christian leaves a legacy through their walk of faith and Phyllis will always be remembered for her Christlike spirit.  That sensitive spirit will do more than just point everyone who knew her back to her wonderful life remembered ---- but it also points us forward in hope to an amazing celebration that is to come.  "We walk by faith and not by sight"...

Dearest Ma, I had many preconceptions about certain aspects of life when I met you. I believed homeschooled children must be odd and unsociable. I believed that siblings with large age gaps between them couldn't possibly have close relationships, and I believed that a mother- and daughter-in-lawn ccouldn't possibly be friends. 
After 12 short years of knowing you, you have changed my mind on so many things. You taught me by example that mothers homeschool because they can't bear to be apart from their children, that age doesn't matter among siblings when they are raised to value God and family above all else, and most importantly, you showed me that a mother- and daughter-in-law can absolutely become friends. 
Thank you for every piece of advice you gave me, for lifting me up and encouraging me in difficult times of life, for loving me like I was your own child, for adoring and treasuring my children in every word and action, and most of all, thank you for raising your children as you did and giving me two brothers, one sister, and the most wonderful husband any woman could hope to have. Your impact on this world was greater than most people's and you will be profoundly missed. I love with with all my heart.

You were a special soul with the biggest heart and someone I always admired. Every Christmas Eve, my sisters and I would ask my dad if you were coming because seeing you made our favorite holiday even more special. I will miss you being there, laughing up a storm, hearing your hilarious stories, and seeing your big, contagious smile. Every time you saw me, you would wrap me in your arms and say “my beautiful haired niece, how are you baby?” You always made me feel so beautiful and loved. You had a presence that lit up every room you were in and you made sure to check on my family and I no matter the distance. I will remember you forever and I can’t wait to give you a big hug when I get there! Until we meet again, my beautiful aunt.

I haven’t seen you in a long time, probably since our niece Alana’s wedding a few years back, and was really glad to connect again via Facebook. To my beautiful sister in law, it is our 53rd wedding anniversary and we are missing your call. Phyl, do you remember when you were a little girl I used to tell you on a summer day to go outside around the corner and see if it’s snowing, and you used to come back and tell me “Tony it’s not snowing around the corner” LOL. You have done a fine job with your family. You should be very proud of them. I so enjoyed our vacations together in Maine and Florida and when Tom used to swim in the pool and hit his head (several times) . Well, my baby sister in law until we meet again love your brother-in-law Tony.

Oh Aunt Phyllis where to begin. You were the kindest, most gentle, loving, supportive presence in our family. I remember even from being a little girl being so excited when I knew you were going to be at Christmas. I knew you were going to give me a big hug, one that immediately calms the soul, and you would be genuinely interested to hear all about my life, tell me I’m beautiful and how proud you are of me. My dad would always tell me “you have a heart just like my sister Phyllis”. Aunt Phyllis was one of the first people who told me when I was young, don’t let anyone tell you being sensitive is a bad thing, god gave us these extra big hearts for a reason, with one of her kind silly smirks. She was truly always in my corner. Throughout the entire pandemic being a nurse in NY, my aunt Phyllis texted me every single week, telling me she was praying, sending me love, telling me she’s so proud of me. She called me “her fighting hero”, something she said her parents used to say. She sent me care packages to bring in for the other hospital workers. She would send me inspirational messages, always reminding me to lead with love, our “superpower”. She shed light during one of the darkest times in my life, always checking in to make sure I’m taking care of myself and my family.  I’m not sure she knew just how much her words made me feel seen and loved. To say she will be missed is an understatement. I have a feeling you’ll be sending us signs from the sky, supporting us with love just as much as you were on earth. Rest In Peace Aunt Phyl ❤️

A beautiful Star. 
I remember the first time I met you, I just ate Chinese food, you gave me one of the biggest hugs and asked, “What did ya eat?” In the most Northern accent, a Southerner could have ever heard at the time. On Sunday, I would leave your house equipped with new Italian words. Immediately asking, what’s that word mean? You shared a tremendous amount of stories with me. We had conversations that would make Joe yell at us, “Stop it!”. We shared texts that “Auntie Ang”, knew exactly what we were talking about because of your laugh. The “Stud of the Family”, will keep the promise I made to you, years ago. To be kind and be the light in the darkness, something you taught me. I love you, I always will.

My mom always appreciated the little things in life. Like how the entire family comes over on Sundays for dinner, playing guess which hand has the chocolate with her grandchildren, listening to Bon Jovi with her husband, talking to her Nicky on the phone every morning, going to the drive in zoo with her Joey and Emma, and telling Andrea and me to wrap our hands around the mug whenever she made hot cocoa. She loved these special moments because they were spent with her family, and there’s nothing she loved more than being a mom.

My Dearest friend, Phyllis. I don't even know where to begin. There truly are no words. 
There definitely is not enough room on this page for all I could say about you, or our years as friends.
 To say I am heartbroken is an understatement. I just cannot imagine a world without you in it.
From the moment we met, almost 50 years ago, we became the best of friends and that never changed. 
I am blessed with so many fun, and wonderful memories when we were growing up. Like the days when we would play Truth or Dare at Hofstra, or ride our bikes across the Hofstra bridge, and get chased by the guards. All of our sleepovers at your house with the late night tuna sandwiches, and the sleepovers at my house with the Friendly's ice cream. 
Of course there was riding our bikes down the street with My Sharona blasting on the boon box, and even all these years later when it would come on the radio, we would text or send videos to each other, and laugh. How about all of our crying sessions when Sad eyes would come the radio?! The best times, with the best friends...Uniondale forever, as we always said. Oh, and our trip together to Florida right before your wedding...wowza, we had the best time!
Then we grew up, and you married Tommy boy, and had 4 amazing kids, and 4 beautiful grandkids. Something you always dreamed of. 
I will always cherish the memory of our Disney vacation, with our families roaming the parks together, and little "Vito and Francesca". It was truly "magical".
You truly were an amazing Mom, wife, sister, Nana and friend. There was nothing that you wouldn't do for your family (or friends). You loved them with all you had...your heart and soul. 
 I Will miss our daily texts, the photos, and your pick of scary movies.
You always told me I taught you so much, but truth be told, you taught just as much, if not more.
And so, my "chesty besty", until the day we meet again, know that you will forever be missed, and hold a place in my heart. I love you sooo.

Dear Aunt Phyllis, 
God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers, and you were so strong. You were truly a women who put others before herself and knew how to make a stranger in a room feel loved. Distance never stopped you from coming to Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving, and it never stopped you from texting me just to catch up on life and tell me you loved me.  Thank you for always making me feel beautiful, but you are the true definition of what beauty is inside and out. I miss and love you so much. I will see you soon. Ohhh Aunt Phyllis…
I’m still in utter shock that I won’t be able to see your beautiful smile and hear your adorable laugh  again while on Earth! I will cherish all the memories in my heart with you. From our trips to PA, Florida, and Maine… to driving around the scary streets in Muttontown and through the tiny people village.  You were one of the most  influential people in helping me grow in Christ! You taught how to love unconditionally, and extend mercy and grace to all around ! I will forever cherish every Christmas Eve , and all the time Paul and I spent with you and Tom each Sunday.  Most of all,  I will miss our  group chat with Mommy  and Cathy! I am privileged and honored to be able to call Phyllis my Aunt.  When I married into the family back in 1996 she always made me feel like one of the family.  From watching our kids numerous times as they grew up to the big Italian feasts at her house on Sundays, Aunt Phyllis did it all.  She touched so many lives around her with her loving and merciful character.  We will always miss you Aunt Phyllis and yes, because of you I now love hot chocolate (inside joke).  You are now in heaven with your savior with no pain, no sorrow, and everlasting joy with Jesus and your Dad and mom.  “His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”Matt 25‬:‭23‬.   We love you so much and can’t wait to see you in Glory!  

There’s so much I want to say about Aunt Phyllis. She is the most selfless person, so kind hearted and truly amazing woman. She helped raise me and my siblings. I remember when she babysat us four kids on top of her own over the summer. She had this elderly neighbor Marie who she cared for deeply. She would go next door to care for Marie, get her dressed and cleaned up and get her to the chair. I always thought how she wasn’t even related to this person but she truly loved and cared for everyone. I knew I wanted to be a nurse and care for those who are sick and needed caring because of Aunt Phyllis who graciously cared for everyone around her. She helped me study through nursing school. She was a joy to be around. Truly hilarious and so generous with her love. She is and always will be my inspiration. I love you Aunt Phyllis. I will see you again one day this time dancing with Jesus and not in that hospital bed in pain. God healed and took away your pain so you can rejoice in heaven Amen! Love you so 💘

This was Phyllis.  She loved her family deeply and lived her life fully serving them and her Lord Jesus.   To know her was to love her, and she has left a legacy for her family that will endure through her generations, and an example of what  a  godly woman looks like for the rest of us to follow.

How can you put this into words? There really are none. I just know God took a good one. The best. 

I’ll forever appreciate the old days, when finding the Easter eggs with the cash inside was our biggest worry. Your broccoli salad and deviled eggs. Opening Christmas presents every year with the entire crew...
Seeing you and Uncle Tom with the kids when we walked in each year for Christmas Eve, will always be a precious memory I’m sure all of us wish to have again. 

You’ve always been there for advice. One of my biggest cheerleaders throughout my entire pregnancy (and before that too). I’ll forever cherish your guidance and love.

My beautiful sister in law..  I always have to laugh when we met at the  “snack shack” in 1983.  Tom was manager and you would always call me on the phone and stop by the stand before it was your shift and say Tricia, your brother is not working is he??  You were so afraid of him.  I would always say, why??  I could never understand it.   Little did we know that 4 years later you would become his wife.    I remember our trips to great adventure, and Tom convinced us to go on free fall.  We were so dumb to do this, but even dumber to do it again at night.  Phyllis you brought such joy and happiness to everyone who knew you.  When I lost Fred, your calls and texts helped me through some long rough days.  Thank you Phyllis for making my brother so very happy all the years you had together..  Thank you Phyllis for giving me 3 fantastic nephews, and a beautiful niece..  who take after their parents with the love they give..  Phyllis, You were more a sister to me than a sister in law, but you were also my best friend.  I will cherish for the rest of my life all the memories I have. When Mom was in the hospital giving birth to you, Dad was outside watering the lawn at 6 am.

But now I know why.  He was watering a delicate and beautiful flower, and her name was Phyllis.

My condolences goes out to the surviving Coyle family. I always remember going to Phyllis's house during the summer and she would watch over me and my three younger sisters. She was always the light of everyone's day and really did enjoy caring for everyone, a true inspiration. A funny memory was during the colder nights, she would always ask me if I was cold and would give me extra blankets even after telling her that I did not need them. She just cared so much for everyone and showed me personally how a Godly woman cares for others in her home. I know that she's in Heaven with the Lord dancing and praising with him and I can not wait to see her again.

If you know me, you know I am unique.  I have no filter, not everyone likes me, my circle is small.  I serve a mighty God that knew exactly how I was made and I needed a friend right out the gate!  Phyllis was 7 when I was born and her goals in life were to be a wife and a mother.  When I was born, I was her real-life doll!  She got plenty of practice with me.  She was the most patient person on the planet.  She was my second mother, aunt, best friend, and confidante all rolled into one.  She was my cheerleader in life and my Christian walk as well as my role model on how to be a better mother.  I was a tag-along on all her dates.  I remember a day drive to go to Millers in PA, amazing trips to Florida, meeting her husband Tom and telling her “he was the one”, being by her side when Nick was born and in the NICU, our 5 am calls when Joey was first born, holding her hand through her miscarriage, and being her biggest prayer warrior to conceive for Mike and Andrea.  She was my Matron of Honor on my wedding day.  I was so blessed when God moved her to VA in 2002 so I even have her in my state.  She watched my kids for a few summers when I went back to work, and they considered her a second Mom as well.  The last few years we had a group text chat and I looked forward to her daily stories.    While I had hoped to have more time with her on Earth, I know I have eternity with her in heaven.  See you soon auntie!

My utmost deepest sympathies to Tom, his children, grandchildren, as well as Phyllis' siblings, nieces and nephews. It has been years since I spoke with Phyllis, I will miss her. I have fond memories of Phyllis. I remember her big, welcoming smile, generous heart & willingness to lend a helping hand. I am sure that next to her love for the LORD, was her love as a wife, mother, grandmother & friend. I have no doubt that Phyllis' legacy of love will on through her family.

Aunt Phyllis - you sure knew how to make someone feel loved! Everyone that met you loved you. You were so special!  Reading through our text chain has me in tears because you just were the absolute most loving and kind human - always excited for things happening in my life and checking in just to say “how I love you so, Lauren” .  You also were funny and could make me laugh with our sick sense of humor. I will miss you. Give grandma a hug and maybe even a slipper toss to her head just like she did to me when I was young haha!
