He was born at Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, VA on September 13th, 1951, to Helen and Curtis Beach. Phil graduated from Edison High School, class of 1969. He worked at Metro for 28 years in the Power Section as an Area Manager and retired in 2005. He then went on to work as a Start Up Specialist at AECOM in Dallas, Tx for the next few years. After that he went on to work as a Traction Power Specialist at Jacobs Engineering when he finally retired in January 2023 in Colonial Beach with his wife.
Phil was an avid Nascar fan. He loved attending the races and watching them on TV. He also had a love for his antique cars, especially his 1934 Chevy Coupe that he would take to car shows over the years and collected a few first-place trophies along the way. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and was a great friend to many. As one of them stated about Phil was that he liked to live life on his own terms. A year before he passed, he and his wife moved from Stafford, VA where they had lived and raised their family for 34 years and moved down to Colonial Beach to enjoy their golden years and be closer to their daughter. Though he only got to enjoy their new home that he built for only a year he became a great friend to his neighbors and was enjoying his new life.
Phil is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vickie Beach: children, Chris Cooper (Rose), Melanie McMahan (Danny); grandchildren, Landon Noakes and Cassidy Cooper and his sister Geraldine “Gerry” Wiley along with numerous extended families and friends.
