Nicolas James Van Doren was the first of a set of twins born unto James and Kenya Van Doren on September 17, 1992, in Bethesda, Maryland. He departed this life on October 13, 2022, after a long battle with leukemia.
Nicolas accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Triangle, Virginia for many years.
Nicolas, affectionately known to most as “Nick” attended Mountain View High School in Stafford, VA where he graduated in 2010. Nick was a member of the JV Wrestling Team and played as a Defensive End on the JV and Varsity football teams. Nick held many jobs over the past 12 years – he was an electrician apprentice, HVAC technician, cook, and mitigation technician, to name a few.
Nick was a devoted son, brother, and father. He was known for his infectious laugh and sense of humor. Nick was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and he loved to watch WWE with his son. He enjoyed tea parties with his daughter and even took time to paint her nails.
Nick leaves to mourn, two children, Dominic and Alayna Van Doren, Stafford, VA; his devoted fiancé, Heather Stock, Stafford, VA; his loving parents, James Van Doren, Englewood, FL; Kenya Van Doren, Spotsylvania, VA; two sisters, Kristen Van Doren, Las Vegas, NV, twin sister, Nicole Van Doren, Fairfax, VA; two brothers, Jeremy Van Doren, Cincinnati, OH, Nyle Van Doren, Crestview, FL; and mother-in-love Rachel Stock, Georgetown, KY. Additionally, he leaves one grandfather, Kenneth Owens; two grandmothers, Judith Allender and Gloria Cray; one uncle, John Van Doren (Heidi), Fresno, CA two aunts, Jaki Cunningham (Michael), Beth Allender (Gil); four great aunts, and a host of cousins and friends.
