Natalie Frances Maas

Mrs. Mass was born in Ohio on August 9, 1922 to Herbert and Elizabeth McNierney.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John B. Maas Jr. and a sister, Marcia Plantz.

She is survived by two sons, John B Maas III (Pattie) and Kevin Maas (Pip); two daughters, Gretchen Maas-Scott, and Meredith Beckett (Jon); 7 Grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Maas was a long time member of the Woman’s Club of Fredericksburg.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 12 at Saint Mary Catholic Church with interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Following the burial friends are invited to a reception to be held at 1:30 p.m. on the 3rd floor at the Heartfields Assisted Living, 20 Heartfields Lane in Fredericksburg.

Mrs. Maas’ family would like to take this opportunity to thank the caring staff of the Heartfields Assisted Living in Fredericksburg where she resided for the past 7 years.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Jack Maas Detachment of the Marine Corps League P.O. Box 7515 Fredericksburg, Va. 22404 to assist the Wounded Warriors Project.
