Janet Jenny Mae Elmore

Janet Mae “Jenny” Elmore, 71, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, surrounded by her family at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville. Jenny was a resident of Ruther Glen for the past 12 years. She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Bowling Green, and was a member of bible study at Grace Bible Church in Lorton.

Jenny was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Hazel and Albert Holloway; her father, Mason Elmore; her brothers, Benton (Dickie) and Marvin (Dee) Elmore; and her son, Gary Chewning. Jenny is survived by her children, son and daughter-in-love Billy and Shiela Chewning, and daughters Tina Lane, Trisha Chewning, Marie Wright and Crystal Elmore; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren, expecting her 11th in December. She is also survived by her aunt, Elva Poole and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, followed by a funeral at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
