Jimmy was born on 7 May 1948 in Arlington, VA, to John and Alberta Baziluik. Jimmy grew up in Alexandria, attending Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, and graduated from George Washington High School. Jimmy joined the Army in 1967 and was in the Signal Corps. He was stationed in Germany and later Vietnam and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1974. Jimmy held a variety of jobs over his life from lineman in the Army, a bowling alley manager, worked with the CSX Transportation as a driver, was a truck driver, and most recently worked for a local construction company until he was no longer able to work.
Jimmy enjoyed playing poker twice a week with friends as recently as two weeks prior to his passing and attending family gatherings.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alberta Baziluik, and his siblings, John “Jack” Baziluik and Sue Ann Baziluik. Jimmy is survived by his niece, Jennifer Caine (Ed) of Warrenton, niece Karen Stewart (Jim) of Springfield, and nephew Robert Baziluik (Jeanene) of Manassas; Great Nephews, Garrett Caine, Carson Stewart and Seth Baziluik; Great Nieces, Cailyn Caine and Chloe Baziluik; former Sister-in-Law Linda Baziluik, cousin, Nancy Haines, who visited with Jimmy and the family while in the hospital and finally Jimmy’s best friend, roommate and caregiver, Michael Robey, who truly was like brother to him. The family is forever grateful for Mike taking great care of Jimmy all these years.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, 19 December from 4-7pm at the Mullins-Thompson Funeral Services, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA, 22401. The burial will be 20 December at 11:30am at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172. If you plan to attend the burial, please arrive by 11:00am to line up and be escorted to the burial site. A Celebration of Life is being held on 11 January; details to be determined.
