She enjoyed doing flower arrangements and watching the Hallmark Channel. Her favorite Hallmark movie was The Christmas Card, which she watched numerous times each year. In earlier years she loved cooking and baking. Her specialties included peanut butter cookies, fruit cakes and various homemade breads. They were often given to family, friends and the kids in the neighborhood. After she retired, she remained living in the Spotsylvania Courthouse area for many years. Then approximately six years ago, Grams moved in with Audrey and Rex. She lived happily with them for the remainder of her life.
Frances, Grams, loved all her family and always put them ahead of herself.
She is survived by her son, Robert “Pete” Whitlock and wife, Anne; two daughters, Audrey Bishop and husband, Rex and Rose Brubaker and husband, Bru; six grandchildren, Amy Sharpe and husband, Kenny, Tony Whitlock and wife, Shannon, Tom Whitlock and wife, Christi, Mike Whitlock and wife, Deanna, Jenny Bishop and husband, Jose Yac, Jason Bishop and wife, Cathleen Greenan; and thirteen great grandchildren, Hunter, Abby, Dustin, Connor, Austin, Reese, Ethan, Shane, Ashleigh, Grace, Violet, Sebastian and Audrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bob” Whitlock; her parents, George and Merle Hufner; and two brothers, Joseph “Jim” Hufner and Walker Hufner.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the confederate cemetery, Spotsylvania, VA, where she will be laid to rest alongside of her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
