Mrs. Frances Reimold was born to John and Mary (Costello) Bonfante on May 30, 1933, in Jamestown, NY, and was raised with the Conti family in Fredonia, NY.
She graduated from a business school and went to work in Washington, DC where she met her husband Glen Reimold who was in the military. After several moves over the years, they retired to a house they built at Lake Anna in Bumpass, VA in 1997.
Fran worked for the Federal Government at Quantico, VA until she retired in 1998. She loved working with the young Marines, inviting them home for a home cooked meal on the holidays.
They dubbed her "Mom of Marines."
Fran Reimold enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and entertainment at the lake. She also likes gardening, reading, puzzles and her various pets she took care of over the years. After the loss of her husband in 2017 she moved into a house she had built in River Crossing at Spring Arbor in Fredericksburg.
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and friend. She will be missed and remembered for her kind, giving and generous heart.
She is survived by her four daughters, Pam (Verlin) Hardin, Kathy (Kearney) Rash, Donna Downin (David Carson), Barbara Hughey and daughter-in-law Gloria along with nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Reimold was preceded in death by her husband Glen Reimold, son Timothy, daughter Denise and older siblings a Brother Samuel Bonfante and Sister Laura Kysor.
Recognition to Caregiver and Friend Sharon Beale for the many years she has taken care of our mother. We would like to thank Dr Mussey and Dr Vranian and the area Hospices.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, October 24, 2024 during 6-8pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA 1621 Emancipation HWY, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 1902 Plank Road, Fredericksburg VA 22401.
