Elias J. Koons, 11, passed away after bravely battling brain cancer on Sunday, November 20, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 9, 2011, in Arlington, Virginia, the son of John W. Koons and Arelis A. Koons (Muvdi).
Elias was in 6th grade and loved school. Elias’ dream was to one day become an Aerospace Engineer. Elias loved building legos, being with his family and everything that had to do with space. He was wise beyond his years, loving, funny and loved Jesus with all his heart. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson and friend.
Elias was predeceased by his grandfather, Joseph R. Koons, and his dog Duke. He is survived by both his parents, John and Arelis, his siblings, brother Andres, sister Isabella, brother Adrian and brother Aren; grandmothers Nancy Koons and Yamile Caballero; aunts, uncles and many cousins. He will also be missed by his special puppy Mando.
A service of remembrance will be held 10:30 am Saturday, January 21, at Summit Church, 7719 Fullerton Rd, Springfield, VA 22153.
