He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helga Boldt; son Ralph Boldt (Shelby) of Stafford; brother-in-laws Egon Hellmund of Germany and Armin Hellmund (Bonnie) of Pennsylvania; granddaughter Sheila Phillips (James) of Stafford; grandson Darin Boldt of Fredericksburg; two great grandchildren, Courtney Kincaid and Zachary Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Boldt and Margaret Dea; brother Clifford Boldt and sister Dorothy Osbourne.
Mr. Boldt, joined the U.S. Army in January, 1946 at the age of 16 and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1967. During his 21 years military service he served in Korea, Germany and in
1964 – 1965 he served in Vietnam as a military advisor. He retired from military service in 1967. For the next 17 years he continued his federal service with the General Services Administration, Federal Supply Service located in Washington, DC; retiring as a director in 1984. In 1986 he and Helga moved to Arizona. There he started his own business teaching federal employees about supply operations and being actively involved with the Arizona Elks Association. In 2003 – 2004 he served as the President of the Arizona Elks Association.
A graveside inurnment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
