Obituary of David Bernarr Buehrens
David Bernarr Buehrens, age 81, of Fredericksburg formerly of Charlottesville, VA pass away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at his residence. He was born on March 7, 1938 in Marshfield, Wisconsin the son of the late Herbert and Stella (Ziem) Buehrens. For many years he worked as a college professor and taught English language and History at a few different colleges in NYC. Later he’d got a job at Merryl Lynch company and worked as an editor for the company’s headquarters which located in a building that was a part of World Trade Center. When the 9/11 tragedy happened he was at work and, fortunately, he got home safely. He was a 9/11 survivor. David Bernarr was a big book collector and reading was his passion. He wrote many articles for newspapers and magazines and was working on his book. He was extremely passionate about English language and history and even had known 5 other languages! David Buehrens loved his family beyond anything! He will always be remembered as an extraordinary intellectual person, wonderful and loving husband, the most caring and thoughtful father and stepfather and extremely kind grandfather for his stepchildren who he treated like his own! Survivors include his loving wife, Valentina Buehrens; one son, David Arthur Buehrens and wife Kristine of New York, NY; 2 step-daughters, Anna and Anastasia and her husband Alexander; one brother, Wesley Bradford and wife Judy of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Grace Ziem of Pennsylvania State and Carol Simon of Washington state; three grandchildren, Veronika, Arina and Arsen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30PM Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, VA.
