Obituary of Christina Kathleen Choi
We are sad to announce the passing of Christina “Rowan” Choi. Rowan was born in Fairfax Virginia and was the oldest of three siblings. Rowan graduated from Brentsville High School in 2010. They attended Northern Virginia Community College for two years before they decided to take some time off to travel and find themselves. When they returned, they worked many jobs before deciding to study holistic health and wellness at Hill college. Rowan had many interests such as reading, writing, drawing, painting, music, woodburning, jewelry making, camping, hiking, swimming, cooking, karaoke, attending Renaissance fairs, and traveling, they just didn’t like to work but who does. Rowan is preceded in death by her grandfather, Gary Reidinger and her Uncle Moon. They are survived by their mother and father; Michelle and Ki Choi, their brothers; Michael Choi and Jordan Choi, their grandmothers; Beverly Reidinger, Myung Judd, Reina Choi, their grandfathers; Ki Choi Sr. and Jere Judd, their Aunt Tracy, their uncles; Eric McComas, Todd Rose, Kerry Choi, and Jayson Choi, their many 1st and 2nd cousins and countless friends. Christina Kathleen "Rowan" Choi will be missed dearly. They were the person who lit up the room with energy as soon as they walked in, they didn't care if they danced around like no one was even in the room as long as they were vibing and having a good time. They could often be found hiking along breathtaking beautiful trails surrounded by nature, wildlife, plants, and much more such as Belmont Bay wildlife refuge. They could also be found surrounded by their love of nature while camping, to take time to be at peace. They would pick her perfect spots, set up camp as well as the fire. I can picture her dancing around the fire singing the night away, no worries just what they loved all around them. If not camping or hiking they often took time caring for their plants or even cooking, coming up with their own personal dishes which they were always so proud of. They had so much creativity which each and everything they did especially cooking. When making jewelry, they would create some of the best and most unique pieces with each one having their own personal "Rowan" creativity attached to them. No different to all that they did the same with wood burning, they were even able to make homemade mirrors and amazing designs on wood like trees, flowers, or dragon flies. Most important hobby of all though Rowan always tried to be there for their family and friends, making sure they were doing well rather than worrying about themselves. They would spend all their energy helping without thinking twice. Rowan was a free spirit full of love for almost everybody they met, they were creative and innovative with every thought or idea as well as very spontaneous, Rowan was also compassionate and sympathetic towards others. One thing I know without doubt, Rowan was fierce like a wolverine. Anywhere they went, Rowan would always bring that energy needed to lighten the mood. Christina Kathleen "Rowan" Choi with your bright light shining on forever I love you, I miss you, hope you’re at peace and whatever you do don't stop being you in heaven, keep dancing and singing around like there's no tomorrow with Uncle Moon and Pappy Gary. A memorial service will be planned for a later time.
