Amy Elaine McConnell

Amy Elaine McConnell, age 56, of King George, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital. Beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor who will be missed by all and touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She was born on May 28, 1965, in Boonton, New Jersey the daughter of Daniel and Elaine (Pearthree) Erny. Amy was our fiercest champion, with unwavering strength and kindness. Her love and devotion to family and friends was evident in the thoughtfulness she radiated, whether baking a cake, building furniture from scratch, delivering eggs, cookie trays, and homemade canned goods, or just being a listening ear, giving a warm hug, telling a sassy joke, and a word of advice when needed. She is our foundation, and because of her we are strong. She was preceded in death by her father Daniel, her sister Sarah, and her son Joshua. Amy is survived by her loving husband, John B. McConnell; her son, John B. McConnell and wife, Alicia, of Burke, VA; her daughter, Moira A. McConnell of King George, VA; her mother, Elaine Erny of King George, VA; two brothers, Daniel Erny of Wallkill, NY, and Matthew Erny and wife, Linda, Warren Co., NJ; and one grandchild, Isla G. McConnell. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. The family will receive friends at 11am with services beginning at 12pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg with Rev. John Hodgen officiating.
