Shelby Bair

Shelby Bair, age 90, of Franklin, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born April 15, 1924 in Menifee County, Kentucky, the son of Charlie Bair and Emma Welch Bair. He loved to play bluegrass music. He is survived by one daughter, Sheila Dennis McConnell of Monroe; one son, Emory Sheila Bair of Kentucky; two grandchildren, Shannon W. Bair of Monroe, Adrienne Gavula of Columbus; two great granddaughters, Audra Stankoff of Gratis and Scarlett Bair of Monroe; three sisters, Athlene Brown, Irene Hedlicka, Jewell Bailey; and one brother, Grady Bair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Bair in 2009; one son, Shelby W. Bair in 2012; one granddaughter, Shelly Stankoff; his parents; one sister, Christine Walton; and four brothers, Demory, Stanley, Charles, and Grover. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend David Stidham officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
