Sam was born on May 23, 1952, in Middletown, Ohio to Samuel and Mary Lou (Kellis) Morgan, who preceded him in death.
Sam was a lifelong resident of Franklin, Ohio. Sam participated in cross-country and track and field while attending Franklin High School from which he graduated in 1970. Sam married Jeri Lynn Alexander on August 2, 1975 and they were married for 46 years until his death. In addition to Jeri, Sam is survived by his son, Samuel III (Jordann); daughter, Leslie; grandson, Dale; sister, Karen (David) Armstrong; and countless extended family members and dear friends. All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly.
Sam started his career as a diesel mechanic apprentice to his father and would later become an ASE Certified Master Diesel Technician. For most his life Sam was a long haul and line haul truck driver for Conway (XPO). One of Sam’s biggest passions was being a part-time Fire Fighter for the City of Franklin for over 30 years. A portion of his time with the department Sam worked as an EMT.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Sam enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and hunting with his family and friends. Sam held Dive Master and Master Scuba Diver certifications for many years which lead him to assist with search and rescue dives in the local area.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Franklin since childhood, Sam served as a Trustee and volunteered in numerous capacities over the years. It is with great comfort that we are certain Sam is rejoicing with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
