Richard Joseph Bothe

Mr. Bothe was born in South Dakota and moved to Franklin, Ohio at the age of three. He lived in Franklin for eighty-five years.

He worked for General Motors for thirty eight years as a welder, retiring at the age of 59 ½.

Mr. Bothe was active at St. Mary Church before their move to Springboro. He was active in the Boy Scouts as the troop leader of Troop 24 for many years and had the opportunity to take a group of scouts to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

Mr. Bothe and his wife Patty were avid square dancers, dancing around the area and group to regional competitions in Ohio and throughout the US.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; wife Janet P. Bothe in 2017; brothers, Jim and Glen Bothe, and 2 son-in-laws.

He is survived by his children: Nancy Schneider, Joe Bothe, and John Bothe; grandchildren, Chad Schneider, and Stacey (Reed) Squyers; 3 great grandchildren, Walter Schneider, Roanin and Ruby Squyers.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday December 23, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 9579 Yankee Road, Springboro, Ohio 45066 with Fr. James Manning officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:30 am. Burial will take place at Heritage Hills Cemetery.
