Raymond M. Weizman of Springboro, Ohio died peacefully at home with family by his side on Thursday, September 7, 2023, 4 months after his beloved wife, Ida, passed. They were married for 61 years. Ray had just turned 89.
Ray was raised in Dayton, Ohio and was one of three children. After graduating from Chaminade High School, class of 1952, he attended University of Dayton for one year. He joined the Army in 1956 and shipped overseas to Alaska before Alaska was a state. Ray joined a Catholic youth group where he met the love of his life, Ida. Raymond and Ida married and had 4 children. Ray was a steel worker his whole life. He worked as a warehouse superintendent at Allegheny Steel, Good Steel Company, and retired from International Mold Steel.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Larry (Elizabeth) Weizman and Patrick (Krysta) Weizman and daughters Debbie (Roger) Cottongim and Melissa (Chuck) Webb and sister, Liz Duckro. Ray is the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ray will be remembered for his love of his country, auctions, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds. Ray lived his life on his terms enjoying his independence and freedom.
Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home, 40 N. Main St., Springboro, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 9579 Yankee Road, Springboro, on Saturday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
