With sympathy to the Howard family. I had the pleasure of working with Ed for many years at Rockwell Automation. I was deeply saddened when I heard of his passing. Ed had pictures of his family near his desk, and we would talk about his daughters and what they were doing in school and in sports. He was a pleasure to work with. Always supportive and willing to help others at Rockwell Automation. Know that Ed will be missed by so many that he worked with throughout his professional career.

Ed was and is a Great Blessing!!

I'll miss his humor and friendship as he helped me navigate my new global sales role within Rockwell Automation. 

Ed was a Matthew 5:16 man, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

My prayers are with those he loved here on this earth, and know that you will see him again when we are all with the Lord.

The scripture which has sustained me after my Dad went to heaven in 2019 I offer up to you…

2 Corinthians 5:7-9
For we live by faith, not by sight.  We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

Dear Howard Family,
 I’m so sorry for your loss. I was crushed when I heard of Ed’s untimely passing. I hired into Rockwell Automation in June of 2022 and Ed was one of the first people I met and I’m lucky to say that he and I talked multiple times a week. Ed was always there for me, always helpful and was able to help me navigate, what felt like, a completely different professional eco-system than I was used to. As an alumnus of the University of Iowa, Ed and I quickly connected over sports and talked in length about the two recent bowl games between our teams. In addition to talking about sports, Ed and I talked a lot about family and talked about our daughters. My daughters are 8 and 10 and he always told me to hold on tight because they grow up so quickly. He was so proud of his kids and loved them so much. Although I only knew Ed for a short time we quickly became friends and I’ll miss him. I’ll make sure to cheer for Kentucky, unless they’re playing Iowa of course.

My deepest sympathies to Ed's wife and daughters and to the entire Howard family.  I hope you find comfort in the love and support of friends and family.  I worked with Ed for many years, and he was truly a gift to all who knew him.  Ed was a wonderful mentor, a patient teacher and a thoughtful listener; injecting humor in the perfect moment to make us all laugh.   I feel very honored that I had the chance to know Ed.  He was not just a colleague, but a cherished friend.  Ed lit up with joy and pride every time he spoke of his family, which was often.  My thoughts are with you as you navigate this difficult journey.
