Mary Sue Edwards

Lifelong resident of Franklin, Ohio

Graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1942 and Katherine Gibbs School of Business.

Preceded in death by Parents, Dr. Lewis F. and Frederica (Browning) Edwards, brother William F. Edwards (Mildred) and sister, Ann B. Bettison (Rev. Morse).

Visitation and Services will be held on December 30, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Avenue, Middletown, OH 45044.

Mary Sue had a long career as an Executive Secretary, retiring from Miami Carey in Monroe, Ohio.

Mary Sue was a passionate genealogist travelling far and wide to confirm our family heritage. Mary Sue was honored as the oldest member of the Sycamore DAR Chapter in Adams County, OH where she served as Regent. She served as a Board Member and President of the Franklin Historical Society and member of the Warren County Genealogical Society. Many stories about her days at Chautauqua and historical events were shared and recorded.

Mary Sue served The First Presbyterian Church of Franklin and Springboro as Elder, Choir Member and Sunday School Teacher. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Middletown. She also held a long membership in the literary Franklin OMT Book Club.

She was a true artisan with many interests. Her special talent, beginning in the 4th grade, was knitting which she shared with many other knitters.

She is survived by nephews W. Patrick Edwards, Richard L. Edwards, Daniel C. Edwards, and Paul Bettison, and niece Sueann (Bettison) Sher. She is a very special Aunt to 5 great nephews, 3 great nieces, 4 great, great nieces, and 1 great, great nephew.

A visitation for Mary Sue will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Avenue, Middletown, OH 45044. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 2910 Central Avenue, Middletown, OH 45044. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Woodhill Cemetery, 6228 Hamilton-Middletown Road, Franklin, OH 45005.
