Marion "Butch" Stephens, passed away November 19 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born August 9, 1946, in Middletown, Ohio to Elmer and Edith Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Bryn and two sons, Matthew Dana, and Andrew Amy Stephens; his grandsons, Alex and Luke Cornele, with a granddaughter due in March; a brother, William Becky Gephart; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jane and Bob Steiger of Sylvania, Ohio; five nephews, a niece, great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. Butch was a 1964 Madison High School graduate. He was employed at Crystal Tissue as a Millwright for 34 years, and then worked for the Butler County Education Center as a teacher's assistant and courier. He was inducted into the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame, and the Madison High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Butch enjoyed watching his grandsons' ball games, restoring cars, playing cornhole with his buddies and was an Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan. He will always be remembered for his special sense of humor, his willingness to help others, and the love he had for his family and friends. The family wishes to express a special thank you to his hospice nurses, Michelle, Jennifer and Patricia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Anderson officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elk Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Middletown.
