Linda Back

Linda Back, aged 72, completed her journey on earth on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Linda was born in Middletown, on September 17, 1950, to parents, Theodore “Ted” and Marianna (Klackner) Gilbert.

She worked for 20 years at Crystal Tissue Paper, as well as, many years at Miami Valley Paper and eventually retiring from Kohl’s e-Commerce in 2010.

Linda could be described as a “book worm” who loved to read and never stopped learning. She loved to travel and some of her favorites were her time spent with family at the beach, Las Vegas and getting to visit Times Square in New York City.

She spent many years attending Southbrook Christian Church.

“Though she be but little, she is fierce” would best describe her spunk and personality.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Myron and Isabelle Hensel and Emmett and Laura Gilbert.

She is survived by her children, Andy (Lynn) Brate, Jodi (Darris) Campbell; grandchildren, Gabrielle Stokes, Ryan (Destinee), Lucas and Hunter Brate, and Alex Campbell and Lindsay Boyer (Levi), bonus grandchildren, Amber and Eric Hamilton and her special great-grandchildren, Payten Winkler and Elliott Brate, as well as, her special companion of 10 years, Doug Bowser, all whom she adored and loved tremendously.

She is also survived by sisters, Brenda (Bill) Jensen and Roseanna Tidwell; brothers, Ted Gilbert and Ron (Yvonne) Gilbert, all of Middletown; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, extended family and cherished friends.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Reddy and her staff at Dayton Physicians Oncology, her Hospice of Dayton care team, and Southbrook Christian Church Cancer Hope.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, November 122022 from 1-3 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home-Franklin Chapel, 1357 East Second Street with services beginning at 3 p.m..
