Larry Jon Porter

Larry Jon Porter, age 79, of Dayton, OH, died Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Laurels of West Carrollton. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 9, 1938 to Cyrus and Margaret (Newton) Porter. Larry was a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh receiving his BS in Electrical Engineering and received his MBA from the University of Dayton. He was employed with General Motors and Delphi for 40 years and retired in 2004. He was preceded in death by his father, Cyrus B. Porter, mother, Margaret A. Porter. Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arleen H. Porter son, John S. (Jennifer) Porter; two daughters, Tracy J. (Dan) Bockhorst, Susan P. Federinko; eight grandchildren, Alex, Paul, Caroline, Jack, Sarah, Thomas, Andrew and Evan; two step grandchildren, Blake and Trenton; brother, Cyrus B. (Ruth) Porter, Jr.; sister, Donna (Richard) English; three brothers-in-law, Robert J. (Helen) Boyda, John R. (Phyllis) Boyda, Kenneth L. (Virginia) Boyda. Funeral services are 3:00 pm Sunday October 8, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Homes 40 North Main Street, Springboro, OH. Burial will be in David's Cemetery.
