Joseph Proctor

Joseph Frank Proctor, age 90, of Springboro, OH; passed away peacefully on Sunday October 18, 2009 at Sycamore Hospital after a brief illness. Joseph was born in Port Orchard, WA. on December 25, 1918 to Earl Glen and Annie McKay Proctor. Joe attended and was a graduate of the University of Michigan, School of Engineering. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan. While at college, Joseph met the love of his life, Marilynn Reeves, and the two fell in love. Joseph and Marilynn married in 1944 in South Bend, IN. Joe and Marilynn ventured to Southeastern Ohio in 1978 and settled in a new home in Springboro in 1979. They enjoyed spending winters relaxing in Fort Lauderdale. Joe served as a volunteer at Sycamore Hospital and had been a member of the Sycamore Creek Country Club. Golf was his other passion. He enjoyed many years of golf at SCCC and traveled to St. Andrews to golf and celebrate his Scottish heritage. Joes (Gramps) pride and joy has been his beloved grandchildren. He is very proud of their accomplishments and their collegiate success. We will remember and honor Joseph Frank Proctor as a man of integrity and honesty. He was a mans man and a true gentleman. He had no enemies and knew no strangers. If you knew Joe, you loved Joe. He was a very organized and a man of his word. Joseph was preceded in death by a sister Jean Chase and by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Marilynn Reeves Proctor, 3 dear sons Joseph Ford Proctor and wife Nataya of CA, David Proctor and wife Judy of NH., Brad Proctor and wife Michelle of Centerville; 4 wonderful grandchildren Amy (Sean) Quinn of CO, Erik Proctor of NY, Tracey Proctor of NH, and Shannon Proctor of CA; a niece Cynthia Chase Bailey, a nephew John Proctor Chase; a great niece Cindy and great nephew Steve; and his beloved companion Daisy the Chihuahua; and of course many dear friends and neighbors in Ohio, Connecticut, Texas, Indiana, and Florida. The family would like to thank the staff of Sycamore Hospital ICU, Sycamore Emergency Dept., Clearcreek Fire Dept, and Dr. Joseph Garland and his staff for services provided to the Joseph Proctor family. Funeral services are Friday October 23, 2009 at 1:30pm at Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH. with Pastor Fritz Wiese officiating. Burial will be in Michigan at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be 12:00pm to 1:30 hour on Friday at the funeral home.
